Ballade指的是辅以钢琴等配乐而进行叙事的音乐体（A ballade refers to a one-movement musical piece with lyrical and dramatic narrative qualities），其主要起源于14，15世纪法国歌剧的三节韵诗。
之所以选择这首歌，是因为它有太多了之前我所推荐的“音乐电影”（或谓之电影式的音乐）的特质：简单而清澈的旋律，故事化的对白/独白，以及闭眼清晰可见的电影画面。早先推荐的雷光夏作品大多属于这样的类型，尽管或许其情节上的安排要舒缓得多。当然也有人评价雷的作品为“’声音电影/Sound Film’及’文学音乐/Literal Music’”的结合体，多少也算妥当。类似作品虽然不太常见，但不算稀有，至少我Blog里曾推过的林慧萍《驿》应该可以算作此类。当然，若论及Literal Music，恐怕无人能出Leonard Cohen之右。
再回到歌曲本身。此曲选自Lady & Bird的同名专辑《Lady and Bird》中的第十首。Lady & Bird乐队是由前面介绍到的才女Keren Ann以及冰岛Bang Gang乐队主唱Bradi Johannsson和组而成，而且他们推出了这张同名专辑。专辑整体风格迤逦迷离，和声优美，“‘于冰冷之处呵出温暖之花’女生合唱的吟或是拟声层次丰富而韵律感十足层层叠叠不犹让人想起莲花之类的东西一层层铺展开来,花瓣柔和呈现的同时清香出来了,浸入人心”，其中Keren Ann的歌声较之她的的专辑，在这张专辑中的变化更丰富，层次更多元，当然声音却依然迷人。 这张专辑中歌曲首首动听，所以单独罗列出这首歌，倒有破坏专辑整体感之嫌。所以，如果有可能，去找找这整张专辑来听听吧。
